LPN - VIRGINIA ORTHOPEDIC SPECIALIST SPINE CENTER Location: MARYVIEW MEDICAL CENTER, PORTSMOUTH, VA Department: VA ORTHO SPEC SPINE CENTER Requisition Number: xxxx2 Schedule: Full Time Shift: Day Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Job Details: VIRGINIA ORTHOPEDICS SPECIALIST SPINE CENTER POSITION SUMMARY Utilizes the nursing process, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care, teaching and counseling to patients and families and assists Providers and office staff as appropriate. Participate as a team member by performing additional assignments not directly related to the job description when workload requires and as requested by team leader. Must have ability to draw blood, take blood pressure, weights and patient history, and perform laboratory testing. Orders clinical supplies and keeps inventory current. May assist the Provider in minor surgeries. Must be capable of caring for all age groups. Job Requirements 1. Graduate of an accredited LPN school of nursing program or EMT Paramedic Program. 2. Minimum of two years experience in a clinical setting, primarily in a physician's office. 3. Current Licensure -LPN State of Virginia.
